Thoughts and Prayers For Channel 2 WSB-TV Anchor Jovita Moore
Channel 2 Action News (WSB-TV Atlanta) has released an update on longtime news anchor and reporter Jovita Moore. She has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer. Moore has released an audio message to viewers. She left the ABC station suddenly in April after doctors discovered two tumors on her brain. Those tumors turned out to be Glioblastoma, which is an aggressive brain cancer that has no cure.
Her co-anchor Justin Farmer told viewers Moore did not want to be on camera when the station announced the news. Community and public affairs director Condace Pressley told viewers Moore is strong and is a fighter.
“We laugh and you know sometimes we talk about stuff and we may cry a little bit. but at the end of the day, she is a fighter, and she is surrounded by love and prayers and positivity,” said Pressley. “She’s a very strong woman and is raising three very strong kids who are, as we all are, right there with her.”
The Inside Edition report from April.
Jovita Moore appears on the No Chill Radio podcast with Isaac Hayes III in 2019.
Moore talks about the business of journalism and news coverage in the age of social media.
