On the Heels of the PBS Documentary on Muhammad Ali 96.3 WHUR Airs Special Edition of The Daily Drum Titled “Ali.. Bigger Than Boxing”
His life went well beyond the boxing ring. Muhammad Ali was a champion who used his skills to press the nation forward on an array of issues ranging from race, religion, politics, entertainment, and so much more. Join 96.3 WHUR and WHUT-TV Wednesday, September 22nd that 7pm for a special edition of the Daily Drum entitled “Ali.. Bigger Than Boxing.” We’ll take a look at the man known at “The Greatest” and why his legacy still resonates today with so many in the DMV.
The program features host Harold Fisher and guest Howard University professor Dr. Greg Carr, boxing promoter Jeff Gatling, and historian/filmmaker Abdur-Rahman Muhammad.
This week the PBS News Hour took an inside look at the Ken Burns' documentary 'Muhammad Ali.' The story segment takes a look at PBS' past history and Burn's history as a white man telling Black stories.
