The Trick Daddy and Trina Morning Show Experiment Comes to End on 99 Jamz, Operations Manager and Radio Vet Jill Strada Exits Also
Cox Media Group sent out pink slips to a number of their employees on Thursday across the country in an effort to downsize and make their bottom line look better. Among those let go were Trina and Trick Daddy as morning show hosts on 99 Jamz WEDR-FM Miami. The morning show featuring the rappers of Love and Hip Hop fame (with no radio experience) was launched in January 2020.
Also exiting is Jill Strada, the Director of Operations for Cox Miami. Strada was Program Director of Hits 97.3 WFLC and oversaw “99 Jamz.” Jill Strada gained industry acclaim by guiding both Hot 97 WQHT-FM and 98.7 Kiss FM WRKS-FM in New York from 2007 to 2011.
The parent company of Cox Media Group is reportedly seeking to purchase the Tegna television broadcast company.
