New York Radio Stations Hot 97, ESPN 98.7, and WFAN Weigh In On The Now Suspended Josh Donaldson “Jackie” Name Calling Towards Tim Anderson
New York radio stations along with Chris Broussard and Rob Parker of Fox Sports Radio react to Chicago White Sox's Tim Anderson taking offense to New York Yankees' Josh Donaldson calling him 'Jackie' after MLB pioneer Jackie Robinson. The closet Twitter crowd also chimed in. (See those tweets below.)
The sports radio hosts actually sees no racism in Donaldson's comments towards Anderson. Ebro of Hot 97 reaction and take was a lot different. Rosenberg also provides commentary on Hot 97 and ESPN 98.7 (He does sports talk in the afternoon on ESPN New York.)
But these are the tweets that matter.
The very simple problem with Josh Donaldson calling Tim Anderson “Jackie” is that he perverted honor into mockery.

Josh Donaldson perverting honor into mockery warrants suspension from @mlb. Whether Tim Anderson once referred to himself as “Today’s Jackie Robinson” or not, it’s a racist remark that requires harsh consequences.

It’s unacceptable. https://t.co/BGOyJ8UZTy
The only douche is Anderson for comparing himself to a legend like Jackie Robinson…Donaldson made fun of him for that and not for racist reasons…don’t want ridicule don’t make stupid statements

Tim Anderson said in some interview that he’s like Jackie Robinson. Therefore Donaldson (presumably derisively) called him “Jackie.” Pretty soft stuff imo.

So let me get this straight. Tim Anderson in an interview in 2019 says that "I feel like today's Jackie Robinson" Joshua Donaldson says what's up Jackie to Tim Anderson. Tim Anderson calls Joshua Donaldson racist. Joshua gets suspended for one game...

What the heck?
The White Sox perfect Twitter response.
