Mitch Faulkner, Industry Giant, Atlanta Georgia Radio Legend, and Master Urban Radio Imaging Artist Has Passed Away
Veteran radio personality Mitch Faulkner has passed away. His family wishes to remain private during this time. Faulkner, a member of the Georgia Radio Hall of Fame was most recently heard on Classix 102.9 and for many years at Kiss 104.1 (WALR-FM) in Atlanta. His other major market stops included Houston and Richmond. His start in radio came in his native Hopkinsville, Kentucky.
He is also noted as one of the most in-demand urban radio imaging voices in the country and around the world. Chances are you heard Mitch's voice announcing your station's call letters or doing promotions in your city. He was the original voice for the UniverSoul Circus and for many other companies. Faulkner also voiced promotions and imaging for 11 Alive WXIA-TV. He was 64 years old.

Mitch Faulkner has passed away.
Mitch Faulkner was one of the most respected voices in radio has taken flight beyond the horizon. Leaving only in a physical transformation, his spirit forever remains in our hearts. Memories
In case you didn't know Mitch:
At one time, radio veteran, Imaging and Production Specialist, Mitch Faulkner, became the most heard and demanded Urban voice in radio. He was recognized as the biggest voice at more than 185 stations across the nation. Dominating radio, he mastered the art of radio imaging, Today, Mitch Faulkner's voice is heard on more than seventy radio stations in America and heard across air waves internationally in London England, Nigeria Africa, Canada, Brazil, The Bahamas, Jamaica and Denmark.
Mitch has served as voice talent for local and national television stations, radio networks and Ad campaigns. He is the active Voice Talent for the National Broadcast of the Trumpet Awards, broadcasted on the Turner Network.
Mitch began his career in radio as a volunteer disc jockey in his hometown, Hopkinsville KY at WHOP AM Country. From there he went on to work with WABD in Ft Campbell KY/TN, an album Rock station, playing music from artist such as Deep Purple, Greatful Dead, Foghat, Eagles, Johnny and Edgar Winters, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Led Zeplin and others from that era, now considered Classic Rock. It was there that Mitch honed his skills in using his voice to woo the audience into staying tuned in. From there to Atlanta Georgia where he worked with WCLK FM, WIGO AM WVEE FM and WEKS FM. In Atlanta he became known as "the Voice" because of his skills at producing Radio station Promos and Drops (Imaging). Also TV Imaging on several Atlanta TV Stations to include WXIA 11 Alive, WGNX Channel 46 and TBS. He also served as Creative Service Director for "The Tom Joyner Morning Show" in Dallas TX.
He has done stints in Houston TX as Production Director for KMJQ Majic 102 FM, Program Director for WEKS FM Kiss 104 Atlanta, Program Director for WCDX Richmond VA Program Director/Operations Manager KZWA FM Lake Charles LA Just to name a few. But at each turn HIS VOICE is what keeps propelling him to new Heights. He was the signature voice for the Janet Jackson Control Tour, The voice of the Hit Stage Play "Mama I want to Sing" Tour voice for Shelly Garrets "Beauty Shop" Stage play, Signature voice for The First "Tyler Perry" Stage plays, it was Mitch Faulkner's voice that first told the world about Tyler Perry as he started his Playwright Career.
He has Performed as the Original Voice of the "UniverSoul Circus Tour, The New City Fresh Festival, the first Major Hip Hop/Rap tour in the World and he was the signature voice for the National Launch of Advance Auto Parts in America.
His greatest accomplishment in the industry came when he and His Brother Arvester Faulkner Launched the first Black Owned and Operated Radio Production facility in the World " ON MIC PRODUCTIONS" (OMP) In Atlanta Georgia. The largest privately owned facility of it's kind in America with over 4400 Square ft. of space housing (4) Digital Studios and over 11 full time employees servicing stations and clients across the Globe. And at OMP he and his staff were the first in the nation to utilize digital delivery of audio to radio stations before the internet was common.
However when you ask Mitch what HIS greatest accomplishment in life is he will tell you about the privilege of being a Father to some of the greatest young men in his life, His sons Mitch II, Matthew, and Isaiah.
“Mitch Faulkner”, a Radio Legend in his own right; may he Rest In Peace!.
Mitch’s hobbies included Riding Motorcycles, Restoring Classic Chevy Trucks, Photography, listening to Classic Rock and Fishing…when they bite!
