Urban One and Radio One Indy Sells WNOW and NOW 100.9 to Bible Broadcasting Network with Hot 96.3 Moving to 100.9 FM
Coming on the heels of the largest radio station sale this year with Urban One acquiring Emmis Communications broadcasting properties, the company is selling off one of it's Indianapolis stations to Bible Broadcasting Network for a reportedly $3.2 million.
The FM signal of Hot 96.3 will become the property of Bible Broadcasting Network. When the deal closes, Indianapolis' listeners will hear religious programming on 96.3 while the intellectual property of CHR station NOW 100.9 will transfer over to Bible Broadcasting as well as the call letters WNOW-FM.
WHHH-FM will move to 100.9 and become the new home of "All Hip Hop and R&B" as Hot 100.9.
With the purchase of the Emmis radio stations earlier this month, Urban One had to sell off one of its stations to comply with FCC ownership limits. When the dust settles, Urban One Indianapolis broadcasting properties will include the new Hot 100.9, Adult R&B 106.7 WTLC, Inspiration Praise Indy WTLC-AM, Mexican Regional La Grande 105.1, TV station Telemundo 19, Soft AC B107.5, Country Hank 97.1, and News/Talk WIBC 93.1, and a couple of FM translators at 93.5 and 107.5 for Sports Talk “The Fan.”
The move of Hot 96.3 to 100.9 FM has not been announced as all of these moving pieces will take time to settle.
