Radio is Not Dead: Ronald Isley, Beyoncé, Alicia Keys, Brent Faiyaz Turn to WORLD PREMIERE Feature on iHeartRadio to Promote New Songs
Hey not all music listening takes place on Spotify or Apple Music. Several labels sought out iHeartMedia stations to promote their upcoming projects. Rather than count on listeners to randomly discover music in a radio station's music rotation, iHeartRadio stations promoted these tracks by playing them once an hour last week with song breaks featuring the artist themselves.
Did you notice?
How effective do you think they were? But make no mistake Spotify and Apple Music are still a formidable force. See below.
iHeartMedia celebrated new music with a World Premiere debut across iHeartRadio stations from several hit artists, including Alicia Keys’ new single “Trillions” ft. Brent Faiyaz on August 12 across all R&B stations. Additionally, Ron Isley & The Isley Brothers’ new single featuring Beyoncé, “Make Me Say It Again, Girl,” had a World Premiere debut on August 9 across all iHeartRadio R&B stations.
On August 12, the latest iHeartRadio “Feature 5” segment highlighted Megan Thee Stallion’s new album “Traumazine.” The special features 5 new songs from the album, out the same day, as well as audio clips from Megan Thee Stallion talking about her sophomore record. The songs and audio clips will play across iHeartRadio Hip Hop stations and R&B stations.
Additionally, iHeartRadio’s YouTube Channels released various interviews with hit artists including Dylan Scott, Travis Denning, Sophia Scott, Billy Locket and Yung Gravy. On the iHeartCountry YouTube channel, singer Dylan Scott chatted with iHeart host Emily Curl about touring with Keith Urban and his dream collaboration with Post Malone, while Travis Denning played “Me vs. Drunk Me” with Curl, testing the singer’s behavior when he’s drunk vs. when he’s sober. Also on the iHeartCountry channel, Sophia Scott gave an exclusive performance where she also talked about her musical aspirations. Over on the iHeartRadio channel, singer Billy Lockett gave a performance of his song “Hard Act To Follow” and did a 10-second pitch about his music for any new fans. Also on the iHeartRadio channel, rapper Yung Gravy chatted with Curl about his “Hot Takes” and talked about his upcoming tour with bbno$.
