Shirley Strawberry Husband's Arrest Raises Doubts About Steve Harvey's Relationship Advice and Credibility on His Show

Bloggers on YouTube and Tik Tok are having a field day with this story which has prompted a slew of would be social media influencers to flood the internet with mocked-up journalistic reports of this story. The results are the type of things media people of a certain stature would hope to avoid. Especially when it comes to their personal life.

However no matter how suspect the sources are, two prominent media personalities that spill the tea on celebrity news on a regular basis, Claudia Jordan (of Fox Soul) and Patty Jackson (of iHeartMedia and WDAS-FM) weighed in on the predicament that Steve Harvey Morning Show cast member Shirley Strawberry has found herself in with the man she married. Perhaps with some fault of her own and lack of investigation, Strawberry's husband of eight years, Ernest "Ernesto" Williams is not quite who he said he was when he proposed to Strawberry on the syndicated morning show in 2015. With Harvey's blessings in hand, he became the man that walked Strawberry down the aisle during the wedding ceremony. Listeners of the show were decidedly excited for the newlywed couple.

Harvey has fashioned himself as a relationship guru given his success with the book and movie "Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man." Strawberry and Harvey are also known for a popular segment on the program called "The Strawberry Letter." (The segment promotes itself this way: If you have an issue that you'd like The Steve Harvey Morning Show to consider for on air discussion and guidance, you may submit your issue in the form of "Strawberry Letter." Your Strawberry Letter may range from personal topics, career decisions, marriage issues, dating issues, social problems, family problems, money matters, religious interests or any other life topics. The segment usually ends with Harvey giving his advise on the issue while the other cast members give their opinion.

Fast forward a few years into the marriage in October of 2022, Williams was arrested on ongoing fraud charges in Roswell, Georgia along with a female accomplice (a girlfriend of his). A big story in the Atlanta area, but not so much nationally. Despite searching for sources outside of the following report, we were only able to find this story regarding Williams arrest in October. Bloggers have reported and suggested that Williams had additional charges from 2019, which we have not been able to corroborate. We'll treat this as hearsay at this point.

Ernest Williams and Erica King were jailed in October accused in a million-dollar scam. Investigators said for years the pair convinced people to give them money for their expertise in business and growing social media brands, but got nothing in return. 


Patty Jackson discussed Strawberry's predicament because as she puts it, her followers on YouTube were asking for her to bring up this situation. Both her and members of the Steve Harvey Morning Show are employed by iHeartMedia. In Harvey's case, his show is syndicated by Premiere Networks, a division of iHeart. Throughout this ordeal, Strawberry remains on the air while her personal life remains a subject of curiosity among her fans. Perhaps Harvey, who is on vacation this week, will address this situation when he returns and discuss it on the air.
