Laiya Uses Facebook to Join the Power 99 Morning Show Contest
A case of the power of Social Networking
Laiya St. Clair started the facebook group "Operation GET LAIYA BACK ON THE RADIO!" to host the Monday morning show on Power 99 (WUSL). Laiya most recently was the midday host on 100.3 The Beat (WPHI) and prior to that co-hosted the morning show with Poochman and Monie Love.
Well how did she get that shot to host? She asked her facebook group members to call Power 99, because she was not a part of the original contestants for the morning show. Laiya writes in a note to her fans, "...I really want to thank yall for calling Power 99. I will be on Monday morning!!!!!! I KNOW!!!!! Power in numbers yall...literally!"
Laiya will host Monday morning on Power 99 from 6-10a.m.
Also added to the contest this week will be The Big Lip Bandit, a top-rated morning host at WEDR 99 Jamz (Miami) on Tuesday (He was replaced by the Rickey Smiley syndicated show last year). Monie Love will host on Wednesday. She sat in with the Hot Boyz' morning show audition last week and host weekends at the station.

Why not bring Al B Silk back to town. When 100.3 [ them 103.9 ] switched formats in 1997, he was the jock that put Power99 in it's place and WPHI on the map. Turn about would be fair play.
ReplyDeleteLaiya is a gifted broadcaster who knows how to connect with her audience. Without question, she is a talent to be reckoned with. Looking forward to hearing her back on the airwaves!
