Funeral Set For Teddy Pendergrass
Funeral arrangements are set for R&B singer Teddy Pendergrass, who died in suburban Philadelphia earlier this week.
A public viewing is scheduled for Friday, Jan. 22 at Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church in Philadelphia. The funeral will be held there the next day with burial at West Laurel Hill Cemetery.
Best known as the singer of "If You Don't Know Me By Now" with Harold Melvin and the Bluenotes and many other hit records as a solo artist, Pendergrass died of colon cancer Wednesday at the age of 59.
Pendergrass was left paralyzed from the waist down following a 1982 car crash, but continued to record music and founded the Teddy Pendergrass Alliance to provide support for people with spinal cord injuries.
