The Rickey Smiley Show Part of Cumulus' Changes in Myrtle Beach
WSEA-FM changed its name and format from Power 100.3, “#1 for Hits and Hip-Hop” to “i100”, “Today’s Hottest Hits.”
i100, “Today’s Hottest Hits” will be simulcast on WSEA-FM 100.3 and WXJY-FM 93.7.
David Lewis, market manager, explains the "i" changes in the VIDEO below.
i100 is a Contemporary Hit Music station developed by radio personality and programmer, Mr. Jan Jefferies. Mr. Jefferies now serves as Senior VP/Programming for Cumulus Media, Inc. based out of Atlanta, Georgia.
Other “i” markets include i93FM in Dallas, TX, i106FM in Nashville, TN, i100FM in Pensacola, FL, i94FM in Indianapolis, IN and Q100 in Atlanta, GA. Cumulus Media’s David Lewis promises a “high-energy, music-intensive format that listeners will love!”
In addition to the changes on WSEA-FM, WDAI-FM, known locally as 98.5 KISS FM will keep its name but will move from a presentation of Classic Soul and Smooth R&B, to an urban mainstream hits and hip-hop driven station. WDAI will air the Rickey Smiley Morning Show, as well as, Dougie Stylz (3 pm – 7 pm), both moves from WSEA-FM. (The Tom Joyner Morning Show has been dropped with the format changes at both station.)
98.5 KISS FM will also return to its well known moniker of “The Big Station.”
Cumulus Media is America’s second largest owner of radio stations with stations located in 68 cities across the US. Cumulus Radio’s digital brands target numerous large and demographically-distinct audiences in each of these markets.
