MSNBC Ready to Make a Change with Rev. Al Sharpton

TVNewser hears Cenk Uygur may be moved out of the 6pm hour, possibly to be replaced by Al Sharpton. When the host changes happened earlier this year with Keith Olbermann's departure in January, the 6pm hour was simply named “MSNBC Live ” with Uygur as host.

Sharpton has hosted the 6pm show for the last two weeks and this past week, the show was second, to Fox News, in viewers 2
5-54 Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. A spokeswoman for the Rev. Al Sharpton said to NewsOne.com that there have been “no formal discussions” with MSNBC, but his impressive ratings indicate that he could be a contender for the spot. “He beat CNBC, CNN and Headline News in the 6 p.m. hour last week, so it’s obvious he has an audience,” she said.

Insiders tell us that Uygur will remain a part of MSNBC in some capacity. His site, The Young Turks, says Uygur has been on vacation and will return Monday.
