Power 99 Sued for What "Jonesy" Let Go Out Over the Air

Jones did nothing to fact-check what the callers were saying, the lawsuit alleges.

Controversy seems to follow radio host Tarsha Jones whether it's in Philadelphia or New York City. As recent as February, Jonesy posted a picture on the station's website of a woman who claimed she was pregnant with the child of NFL wide receiver Chad Ochocinco. The picture was actually another, unrelated woman. That incident resulted in a lawsuit.

New York listeners will probably never forget the infamous and horrific "Tsunami Song" that aired on Hot 97 and the resulting on-air spat between Miss Jones and Miss Info. A suspension of most of the staff and two firings were the result in 2005. A hit man plot by Kevin Hunter, husband of Wendy Williams, was also another bizarre tale in the radio career of Miss Jones aka Jonesy.

The latest stems from an incident involving Tracey Parson, the owner of several day-care centers. Parson says that she received death threats and lost customers after she was misidentified on Power 99's "Jonesy in the Morning" show as a mother who had beaten up teenage girls.

Miss Jones, who was discovered by rapper Doug E. Fresh, left her career as a singer in 2000 and became the gossip reporter with The Star and Buc Wild Morning Show on Hot 97.
