Hot 97's PD Ebro Darden talks Summer Jam, Lil Wayne, and Nicki Minaj
This morning Hot 97 Program Director Ebro Darden sat in with the station's Cipha Sounds & Rosenberg morning show to discuss his thoughts on the "Nicki Minaj-less" Summer Jam 2012 and to share some inside scoop with listeners. Darden said that his differences with Lil Wayne and Young Money go back several years, and Wayne's decision to pull his artists off the Summer Jam stage at Met Life Stadium may not have been all about this one incident.
"Many years ago me and Wayne had our differences here at Hot 97," Darden said on the air, noting that Weezy dissed the station in the liner notes of his album, Tha Carter I. But Darden added that the station's goal has always been to help Nicki Minaj and to support New York Hip-Hop artists.
