Joyner, a
trailblazer in syndicated radio, reaches 7.4 million listeners weekly on
nearly 100 radio stations. He earned the moniker “The Fly Jock” in the
mid-1980s flying between Dallas and Chicago, doing
his number one morning drive program in Dallas and then commuting to
Chicago for his number one afternoon program. In 1994,
The Tom Joyner Morning Show became a syndicated radio mainstay
where Joyner uses his voice to encourage voter registration, health
initiatives and education while entertaining, engaging and empowering
his listeners.
The Library created
the Giants to honor the remarkable creators, innovators, entrepreneurs,
performers and journalists who have brought the electronic arts to the
prominence they occupy in the United States
and the world today, and who have set the stage for the future.
