Louisville Radio Station and Others Hacked with 'F*** DONALD TRUMP' Song On Repeat

A Louisville, Kentucky radio station said hackers hijacked the airwaves and broadcast an anti-Donald Trump song Friday afternoon. Crescent Hill Radio WCHQ 100.9 FM, a non-profit station, first posted about the hacking on its Facebook page at 2:30 p.m. Friday. "OK, not funny. some one has hacked into out transmitter tower, and the FM was playing a mp3 clip repeatedly of %$^# Donald Trump," the post read.

WCHQ Program director Gary Sampson told the Courier-Journal the clip was of a song by rap artists YG & Nipsey Hussle titled, "FDT (F*** Donald Trump)" [pictured above]. The song interrupted WCHQ's FM feed and was being played on a loop for 15 minutes until station manager Kathy Weisbach managed to shut down the feed.

Sampson said the political nature of the song goes against WCHQ's mission as a community radio station that spotlights local Kentucky and Southern Indiana artists. "We specifically avoid people coming on to talk about politics and religion," he said. "It's a matter of providing a community outlet for musicians and artists. It's very disheartening that someone would take the opportunity to make a political statement."

Sampson said the hacker likely gained access to the airwaves via software the station uses for its FM broadcast. The software is designed to allow emergency broadcasts, such as government alerts, to immediately interrupt the station's signal at the transmitter tower, a system Sampson said hackers likely used to override the on-air program. The hack did not affect the station's internet broadcast.
Since many other FM stations use the same software, Sampson said it is possible that other stations were also hacked Friday, although he has not heard any similar reports.
