Troi Torain aka STAR Hints at a Return to Morning Radio
Troi Torain known as "Star" of the Star and Buc Wild brand has released a video, "without specifics" detailing his next move in radio. He is hinting of a return to weekday morning radio. One of the most controversial figures in radio history, he is known to push the limits no matter the topic. Politically correct is not what he is. Star recently did some fill-in work at talk station WKXW-FM - New Jersey 101.5 over the holidays. That station's signal reaches both New York City and Philadelphia. (Air-checks below.) The station, owned by Townsquare Media, boasts that it is the third largest owner of radio stations in the country and has several stations in New Jersey. Torain tweeted out that he is looking for an experienced board operator..
Torain's stops in TV, radio and behind the scenes in the music industry have included Atlantic Records, WEA, Virgin Records, MTV, VH1, The Source magazine, Hot 97, Power 105.1 and 100.3 The Beat. His show was also syndicated to several urban stations when he worked for Clear Channel Radio (now iHeart Media).
Check back we will keep you posted.
