HOT 97 Summer Jam Is Back in Tokyo

WQHT HOT 97 FM, #1 for Hip Hop, announced it’s bringing HOT 97’s Summer Jam, the biggest Hip Hop festival, back to Tokyo on November 11, 2017 with Japan-based Avex Entertainment, Asia's premier live entertainment and production company.

HOT 97 SUMMER JAM TOKYO sold out last year immediately and tickets were difficult to find, sending a wave of shock throughout the music industry and Hip Hop fans in Japan. “We’re thrilled to bring HOT 97 and Summer Jam back to Tokyo as we take the next step in growing these venerable brands for the passionate and growing global Hip Hop audience. Our collaboration with our partners last year laid the foundation for an even larger event in November and further expansion in the coming years.” Patrick Walsh, President, Emmis Communications. HOT 97 SUMMER JAM TOKYO has their attention locked into Japan’s younger generation still new to Hip Hop, those consumers whose tastes in music style, fashion and street culture continue to evolve.

“This is an exciting time for our international brand partners to get in early and seed relationships with the next generation of globally-conscious consumers.” Ben Finley, HOT 97’s Director of Global Business Development HOT 97 SUMMER JAM TOKYO is an extraordinary example of the strength HOT 97 and Hip Hop culture holds throughout the world, transcending beyond radio and music and into an international experience for the audience.

“HOT 97’s Summer Jam is a global phenomenon as we saw last year in Tokyo. We are excited to return for SUMMER JAM TOKYO 2017 and celebrate Hip Hop’s growing impact in Tokyo and throughout Japan." Charlie Morgan, SVP/Market Manager, Emmis New York.

As the influx of Hip Hop into the Japanese culture continues to rise, SUMMER JAM TOKYO will provide travelers, as well as locals another adventure in a country rich with history and tradition. Past performers include Fabolous, Pusha T, French Montana, Omarion, Aklo, and more.

Also returning to HOT 97 SUMMER JAM TOKYO will be Trevanna Entertainment, the production team behind HOT 97 Summer Jam at MetLife Stadium stateside which will celebrate its 25th year in 2018. HOT 97 SUMMER JAM TOKYO will take place Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Studio Coast in Tokyo, Japan.
