Atlanta's Old School Station is NOW Mix 87.7 and Moves Porsche Foxx to Mornings

Core Communications Urban Oldies “Old School 87.7” has relaunched as Mix 87.7. With the relaunch Porsche Foxx moves from afternoons to mornings at the Atlanta area Urban AC station. Foxx replaces the syndicated Russ Parr Morning Show.

The new Mix 87.7 will feature music from the late 1980's through today's R&B. The station drops  from its playlist music from the 1970's and mid 80's. Current songs by SZA, Bruno Mars and Jhene Aiko will be added, while Barry White, Patti LaBelle, and Al Green are gone. However Prince, Bobby Brown, Cameo and Mary J. Blige will remain in rotation.

Mix 87.7 joins the most crowded Urban AC format market in the country with competition from Cox Media Group’s “Kiss 104.1” and Radio One’s “Majic 107.5/97.5.” They also compete to a certain extent for listeners in the 25-54 demo, with Entercom's (WVEE) V-103.

Porsche Foxx, by the way, was a longtime midday personality on V-103 and started her initial run in the mid 1990's. A DUI led to her first exit from "The People's Station" in 2005. V-103 hired her back in 2007 but let her go again in 2008.
