D.L. Hughley Comments on the Passing of Cliff Winston

Veteran Los Angeles Radio Personality Cliff Winston passed away earlier this week and one of his former colleagues D.L.Hughley expressed his thoughts about his friend. The Los Angeles native  made his biggest impact in radio while at KJLH Radio as Program Director and Morning Host.

He started working at KJLH in 1985 until 1990. Then moved over to 92.3 The Beat (KKBT), then returned to KJLH from 1993-2006. His last On-Air position was back at KKBT which became a Radio One property as V-100 (100.3 KRBV) from 2006-08. He began his radio career in college and went on to work in Seattle at KYAC, St. Louis at KMJM-FM, Chicago (WBMX), Detroit (WDRQ-FM) and KRLY in Houston.

KJLH’s website said: “Suffice to say that Cliff is an indelible signature in the life of KJLH Radio. For decades you heard him and the Home Team on our airwaves guiding you to work or wherever you were going each morning. Yes, he also worked at other stations however it is 102.3 RadioFree KJLH that frames the legacy of what he meant to the Los Angeles region. Thanks for the memories Cliff Winston. Gone but never forgotten. On behalf of the management and staff at @102.3 radiofreekjlh, we extend our very deepest condolences and send vibrations of deep love to Cliff’s family and loved ones.”
