Shay Shay Exits Bounce 105.1 For New Position with the City of Detroit
The Motor City radio veteran Shay Lewis, better known as “Shay Shay,” resigned from the midday show on 105.1 The Bounce, Detroit’s Throwback Hip Hop and R&B.
Lewis was originally teamed up with Evan “BiGG” Rose as co-host of The Morning Bounce with BiGG & Shay Shay, which debuted in March 2017, but she moved to middays after CHUNKY a.k.a. BiGG Boy exited the station last November. The Bounce has an immediate opening for a full-time midday talent.
Shay Shay revealed that she has accepted a position as the Athletic Director for the City of Detroit. and said, “I do LOVE radio… I’ve been doing it for 21 years, so it was tough to decide to leave, but this is a great new opportunity for me that I’m excited about, and I’m eager to make my mark in my home city in this capacity.” She added, “Maybe radio will be in the cards again some day, but for now my headphones are hung up.”
Shay Lewis’ radio career also includes stops at the former 98.7 AMP Radio, Channel 955, WDRQ, WDVD and 105.9 Jamz. She is also an adjunct professor at Wayne State College, where she teaches in the Kinesiology graduate department as well as sports broadcasting.
