Trina and Trick Daddy Set to Host New Morning Show on 99 JAMZ
Trina and Trick Daddy will host a new morning show on Miami’s 99JAMZ (WEDR). The show will reportedly replace the Rickey Smiley Morning Show which will transition from a Urban/Hip Hop show to an Urban AC syndicated program in January.
The news of a radio show was first reported by the Jasmine Brand back in June. At the time many dismissed the report as simply a rumor. However Trina confirmed the move to radio in an interview with the Miami Herald. “We were talking about it for a while and the opportunity came about to us so we just decided to say yeah,” she said after her Oct. 24 performance in Miami Beach.
The radio show which is set to debut at the beginning of 2020, will also be part of the storyline on the upcoming season of Love & Hip Hop: Miami.
Banking on two artists/reality stars who have never done radio before in the most important time slot in radio is a big leap of faith for 99 Jamz.
Meanwhile Headkrack, an experienced media personality, will host the new syndicated morning show "The Morning Hustle" for Reach Media in other markets as Rickey Smiley takes over for the retiring Tom Joyner.
