Michael Shawn Exits DeDe in the Morning and Service Broadcasting Group is Seeking a New Co-Host for the Show
Comedian Michael Shawn exited the syndicated morning show DeDe in the Morning last week. The show originates in Dallas at K104 KKDA-FM and the station is in the midst of a nationwide search for his replacement. He shared the reason in a recent Instagram post. Shawn's disease, alcoholism, is something that the comedian has been dealing with for quite awhile. His past battles with the disease caused him to miss significant time from the show in 2019. See the video clip above.
It was during that time that comedian Rudy Rush was brought in as a replacement as his morning show with Claudia Jordan, The Morning Rush was being revamped on sister station Smooth R&B 105.7 KRNB-FM. Since that time the show on Smooth R&B was replaced with The Steve Harvey Morning Show and Rush himself quietly exited DeDe in the Morning a couple of months ago.
Meanwhile lead host DeDe McGuire and co-host Lady Jade have included longtime producer White Gary (Gary Saunders) in some of their light comedic banter segments.
Michael Shawn has co-hosted morning shows in the past with Miss Jones and DJ Envy in New York on Hot 97 and with "Jonesy" in Philadelphia at Power 99 FM WUSL and 100.3 The Beat WPHI. We wish him the very best.
