Pat Prescott Leaving Mornings on 94.7 The Wave Remaining with Jazz 88 WBGO Middays
Veteran radio personality Pat Prescott of 94.7 The Wave KTWV-FM Los Angeles is stepping down as morning host on the "The Soul of Southern California" Adult Contemporary station. Prescott will continue hosting her "Favorite Things" 12-2pm weekday show on Jazz 88 WBGO Newark, NJ, which serves New York City as the Big Apple's only traditional jazz outlet. When she joined The Wave she began hosting mornings with saxophonist Dave Koz for six years then he was replaced by singer Brian McKnight for three years. Prescott then became the first female solo morning host woman on Los Angeles radio.
Audacy has posted her position on their career website. See it below.
Prescott joined The Wave when the station carried the smooth jazz format in 2001 from similarly formatted station CD 101.9 WQCD New York. She began her radio career at WYLD and WNOE in New Orleans and then relocated to New York at Jazz 106.7 WRVR, then over to 107.5 WBLS and sister station 1190 WLIB from 1981 to 1988, and from there mornings at CD 101.9.
Take a look below for the job opening at Audacy Los Angeles, but the best move for The Wave, in our opinion, is to bring back popular host Talaya Trigueros, the former midday host who exited the station three years ago. Admittedly something of that nature rarely happens. Trigueros is now a host on Sirius XM's contemporary jazz channel Watercolors.
Job Announcement - After 21 years of hosting mornings on 94.7 The Wave in Los Angeles, Pat Prescott is relinquishing her throne. The Wave is looking for the next great morning host. The Soul of Southern California reflects diversity, inclusivity, authenticity and is tuned to the vibe and lifestyle that is uniquely SoCal. We're looking for a natural communicator who embodies the spirit of community service and can carry on the legacy Pat created for the role. - Full job announcement
After 31 years at the very core of 94.7 The Wave, Talaya is moving on. She exudes heart and soul in her every word. Thank you @TalayaTrigueros 💙 pic.twitter.com/0mA4dJVDN2
