Tiffany Cross Posts Statement Following Cancellation of 'The Cross Connection' on MSNBC

The industry publication Variety, was first to report the firing of Tiffany Cross at MSNBC on Friday morning. They categorized the firing as her "leaving the network." The Saturday morning show 'The Cross Connection' (in which Variety called "freewheeling") was immediately removed from the MSNBC schedule. Cross issued a statement, although not immediately, as a social media post on Friday night near 11pm ET. See her statement below.  (UPDATED Post: 11/7/22 Tiffany Cross Called Florida the D*ck of the country - See Below.)

Tiffany Cross, the MSNBC weekend host who was known for running the freewheeling Saturday commentary program “Cross Connection,” is leaving the NBCUniversal-owned cable-news outlet.

Her production staff was informed of the decision Friday morning, according to three people familiar with the matter. MSNBC declined to make executives available for comment, and Cross could not be reached for immediate comment.

MSNBC decided not to renew Cross’ contract after two years, according to one of these people, and severed ties with her immediately. A rotating group of anchors will lead her weekend hours until a replacement is found, and the production staff assigned to her show are believed to be likely to stay in place. - Variety

Her firing comes after a Thursday night appearance on the Comedy Central program "Hell of a Week with Charlamagne Tha God." Tiffany's appearance on the program at this time doesn't seem to have played a role in her firing from MSNBC.

But perhaps this commentary from Fox news host Tucker Carlson and recent attacks from political pundit Megyn Kelly played a role in her firing.

Post Updated 11/7/22

There is speculation that the above comment made on Comedy Central's 'Hell of Week with Charlamagne The God" by Tiffany Cross is what got her fired from MSNBC. But all in all it was most likely (in our opinion) her outspokenness on other topics on her show "The Cross Connection" that got her fired. The suits at MSNBC knew she was appearing on the Comedy Central program. Maybe they were not too thrilled that she decided to appear on the program. But we can also see why MSNBC cut ties with Cross in fear of how Fox News would run with that Florida comment.

But here's a different take via The Young Turks podcast from host Cenk Uygur.
