Cox Media Group (“CMG”) Miami today, announced the promotion of three key leaders in the Miami market.

Phil Michaels-Trueba has been elevated to Director of Operations for CMG Miami, effectively immediately. In this role, Michaels will lead all four of CMG Miami’s award winning brands (99 Jamz, HOT 105, Easy 93.1, and Hits 97.3).

“For years, Phil has made innumerable contributions to our market’s success and has earned this position through his passion for excellence and clear performance,” said Ralph Renzi, VP/GM of CMG Miami. “It’s an honor to witness his growth, and I’m excited to see him perform in this new role.”

Michaels-Trueba began his career with CMG in 1991 and has been serving South Florida ever since. As a Miami native from the Little Havana neighborhood, he has always had a passion for radio, service, and community.

“I’m thrilled about this opportunity and continue to be inspired by the talented people I have the privilege of working with every day,” said Michaels-Trueba. “There’s already an unparalleled synergy among our Miami stations. I look forward to working with our teams to amplify this special connection and drive even more success across these four radio brands.”

CMG Miami is also elevating DJ Nasty, current on-air personality for 99 Jamz, to the station’s Assistant Program Director. Additionally, Shelby Rushin, current-on air personality for HOT 105, will now serve as the station’s Assistant Program Director.

“It’s rewarding when you can promote from within your organization,” said Michaels-Trueba. “DJ Nasty and Shelby know and understand the format, the market, and our listeners which is key in continuing our success. Their connection to South Florida and their vision and strategic approach draw on each of the brand’s rich legacies and position these stations for continued success.”
