Sports Talk Show Host Bomani Jones, Now Unemployed Set to Sell T-Shirts

He is seriously selling the BEATEMDOWN T-shirts

Bomani Jones (in his unique style peppered with colorful language) recently hawked his t-shirts and promoted his availability to talk sports to radio stations around the country. He also fielded questions from his fans on UStream the day after his last show of "The Morning Jones" aired on Sirius Satellite Radio.

He shared his thoughts on UNC, Duke, and NBA basketball, college football, The Roots, OutKast, Nas and Lil Wayne's Carter IV. Jones not only is opinionated in the world of sports; he is a published music critic as well.

From Sportsnewser Bomani Jones might want to avoid taking a summer vacation next year. For the second time in three years, Jones has returned from his annual R&R to find out the radio station he was employed by was going under.

Despite The Score Satellite Radio signing off for good on Sept. 1, The Morning Jones host was in relatively high spirits when SportsNewser spoke to him Tuesday night.

“Well, it wasn’t pleasant news. I was shocked,” Jones said. “You don’t expect this to happen. I got experience with this. It’s kind of shocking, but at the same time, I’m going to try to figure out what to do next.”

For the fans of his morning sports talk show who are wondering if The Morning Jones host has looked into starting a podcast network, Jones is exploring his options.

“I have certainly thought about it,” Jones added. “I don’t know too much about the logistics but I have some guys that are looking into it.”

What’s next for the Around the Horn and Jim Rome is Burning regular?

“Is the next thing radio? Probably … I suppose. There are a lot of options on how to do things in a multimedia universe. If the best situation is writing, then I’ll write. If it’s radio, then radio. I’m very excited personally about what’s possible in the current landscape for me the way things are.”
