92.9 Dave FM Atlanta will drop the Rock music format for Sports Talk

Rodney Ho of the AJC stated in his column that CBS Radio Atlanta's general manager Rick Caffey gathered the entire staff of 92.9 Dave FM to inform them that in late September or early October, the lowly rated rock station will become an FM sports talk station. Caffey, in an exclusive interview, said he’d like to have a local presence in all key time slots but that may not be the case in the very beginning. “Our accent will be local personalities,” he said, noting that personalities are what has helped carry sister station V-103 all these years.
CBS Radio is going full steam ahead with their plans to convert many FM stations across the country to an All Sports format as well as launching their own CBS Sports Radio Network in January 2013. Just this week they've hired ESPN host Doug Gottlieb for a multiple platform TV and Radio deal for their network. The new 92.9 FM sports station in Atlanta will face heavy competition from well established stations 680 The Fan and 790 The Zone.
Could the once hot Two Live Stews (former host of Black Men Revealed on TV One, semi-regularly guests on ESPN's First Take, who now have reduced roles on 790 The Zone) be the local presence that Caffey is looking for?
Without the tremendous success of V-103, would this move even be possible financially for CBS Radio in Atlanta?
