Radio One Adds More Gospel in Charlotte on the NEW Praise 100.9 and 92.7
Over the last few days on the former My92.7, promos were hinting that more praise was yet to come on the station.
Today Radio One has decided to end the Urban AC format on “My 92.7” (WQNC) and simulcast the Gospel programming on “Praise 100.9” (WPZS). Most recently Radio-One introduced the new “Old School 105.3” on WNOW-FM and redirected listeners on My92.7 to go there for their Adult R&B listening needs along with The Tom Joyner Morning Show.
With Radio One doubling up on the Gospel music for better coverage over all areas of Charlotte, can we say that the company was just not willing to take on CBS Radio's Power 98 WPEG?
Or is it that the advertising dollars just wasn't going to be there for Charlotte to support another Urban/Hip Hop station? Imagine that. Not being able to sell Hip Hop?
