Sheryl Underwood in the Afternoon on ‘The Juice FM 107.3’ in Toledo

Is a New Urban Radio Syndication Show in the Works for Sheryl?

The new show will launch on The Juice during the month of August which also airs The Steve Harvey Morning Show.

FROM The Juice FM 107.3 Sheryl Underwood heats up drive-time as her radio show “Sheryl Underwood In The Afternoon” joins the program line-up of The Juice FM 107.3 (WJUC) in Toledo, Ohio. “Sheryl Underwood In The Afternoon,” begins airing Friday, August 2 on The Juice FM 107.3 (WJUC) from 3pm – 7 pm daily.

“Sheryl Underwood In The Afternoon” gives listeners’ an all-access pass to entertaining and enlightening conversations about news stories and issues of the day. Sheryl and the crew, broadcasting from The Juice studios, will be live the entire month of August, putting their particular spin on the topics people are talking about.

According to Sheryl the show fits right in to the taping schedule for THE TALK, which she cohosts on CBS television, and her philanthropic endeavors. She adds, “I am excited and proud to be working in Toledo, especially at this station. I feel like I’ve got new friends and a new family. I’m looking forward to being on the radio again. I’ve wanted to do this for a while. I believe that there is room on the radio for diverse voices. The radio experience that I had with the Tom Joyner Morning Show, and hosting “The Sheryl Underwood Show” on Jamie Foxx’s The Foxxhole as well as my current role as a contributor on “The Steve Harvey Morning Show,” have brought me to this place. “

W. Charles Welch, station owner, says “The Juice FM 107.3 is both honored and excited to be the home of Sheryl Underwood In The Afternoon. From the moment we met it was apparent that our station and Sheryl Underwood would be a perfect fit for each other. This is one of the biggest moments in the more than 40 years of my broadcasting career. God is good!”

Sheryl, along with her “Super Producer,” will lead an on-air cast that includes the talented comedian Kyle Erby and The Juice’s own Tisha Lee and Charlie Mack. Kyle Erby says, “I am excited to be back on the air with Sheryl Underwood, easily one of the funniest and smartest comedians working today. I appreciate getting in on the ground floor for something of this magnitude. The fact that this show will be based in Ohio makes it that much more sweet due to the state’s musical history. I can’t wait to connect with the people of Toledo.“

Tisha Lee says, “To be able to work with someone like Sheryl Underwood is amazing! This is not only an exciting opportunity but it’s also a game-changer for radio as a whole.“ “Sheryl Underwood In The Afternoon” will be a refreshing change for radio. The hope is that other radio markets are open to sample the show.

Popular on-air personality Charlie Mack says, “Sheryl Underwood In The Afternoon” is going to be the best radio show to come along in years! I hope Toledo is ready for what’s about to happen because the rest of America is next!”

Tune-in to hear “Sheryl Underwood In The Afternoon,” 3-7p weekdays on The Juice 107.3, Toledo, beginning Friday, August 2. Don’t live in the Toledo area? No problem, tune-in online at thejuice1073.com. The Juice 107.3 is Toledo’s home for “brand new music, classic Hip Hop and R& B.”

-This move indicates that radio syndication company Premiere Networks is giving Sheryl a test run at one of the Steve Harvey show affiliates. Premiere Networks, a division of Clear Channel Media and Entertainment, is the number one radio syndication company in the country. Among their programs besides Steve Harvey is Power 105.1's The Breakfast Club Weekend Show and The Keith Sweat Hotel along with the Top 40 morning show The Elvis Duran Show. However we are pretty sure that if a Sheryl Underwood show is given the go ahead, it would be more geared towards an urban adult contemporary (Classic Soul and R&B format) audience rather than an urban radio/Hip Hop audience.
