Stephen A. Smith Radio Show Goes Nationwide on January 2nd

The Stephen A. Smith Show Expands to Affiliates Nationwide January 2 as Part of Revamped ESPN Radio Lineup; The Will Cain Show Debuts at 3 p.m.

ESPN Radio’s enhanced lineup will debut January 2, 2018, highlighted by the national broadcast of The Stephen A. Smith Show on nearly 300 terrestrial radio stations across the country. The show, which airs from 1 – 3 p.m. ET, returned to ESPN Radio in January 2017, and is currently broadcast terrestrially on ESPN Radio in New York and Los Angeles, as well as on SiriusXM. The program showcases the dynamic personality and provocative opinions of host Stephen A. Smith, as he takes listeners, and his guests, through the hottest topics of the day in sports.

“I’m ecstatic my show is being launched nationwide,” said Smith. “Here’s hoping I can say everyone else will feel the same. If you know anything about me, you know I’m coming: With facts! With perspective! With intensity. So, like I always say, ‘Buckle Up! Here I come.’”

Smith will continue to be a featured commentator on ESPN’s First Take (weekdays 10 a.m. – noon).  The program has seen significant audience growth in 2017, highlighted by a 70 percent increase in November. Smith is no stranger to radio. He began The Stephen A. Smith Show in 2014 on SiriusXM and had previously hosted a weekday local show on ESPN Radio New York 98.7FM from 2011-14. He also hosted a show from 2011-12 on ESPNLA 710AM.

Additional New Programs

The Will Cain Show will premiere at 3 p.m. The three-hour program will allow Cain to provide thoughtful opinion and perspective, while conversing with topical guests. Cain will continue to make regular appearances on First Take.

The entire new ESPN Radio weekday lineup will deliver sports fans news, analysis and commentary from a variety of unique and provocative voices. Spain and Fitz (6 – 9 p.m.) will also premiere that day and pair espnW voice Sarah Spain with SEC Network commentator Jason Fitz.

All ESPN Radio shows will be available live and as podcasts via ESPNRadio.com and the ESPN app, as well as on SiriusXM Channel 80 (live only), Apple Music, TuneIn and Slacker Radio.
