Michael Baisden is Done with Radio, Ending His Show at Year's End, The New Jeff Foxx Show Will Pick Up His Stations in 2021

Michael Baisden is calling it quits as far as radio goes. [See his full statement below]. He will now focus and devote more time to his online platforms and books. Sun Broadcast Group, the syndicator of his show has signed veteran New York radio and Sirius XM personality Jeff Foxx to head up a new afternoon drive program.

Baisden ended his first run in syndication in 2013. At the time his departure left a gap in many stations afternoon schedules and sent many program directors scrambling. He returned to radio in 2017 with far less affiliates but signed to host with much fanfare on Miami's Hot 105.3, Kiss 104.1 in Atlanta and 96.3 WHUR in Washington, D.C. The runs on those stations didn't last a year. At the height of his popularity in 2007, Baisden hosted Baisden After Dark, a late-night television talk show series on TV One.

Baisden and Foxx were once in the same building at the former 98.7 Kiss FM (WRKS-FM). Foxx was a popular morning host on the station and Baisden started his radio career there with the launch of the program known as 'Love, Lust, and Lies' in the late night 10pm to midnight slot. The show became a sensation and he was moved to afternoons and then into syndication with ABC Radio Networks.

After being a morning host at Kiss, Jeff Foxx, a prolific bass player with a couple of albums, hosted afternoons on 107.5 WBLS, replacing Wendy Williams.

Sun Broadcast Group is excited to welcome The Jeff Foxx Show with Keke Brown and Nina to its programming lineup. Sun Broadcast Group will exclusively represent the show in the network sales marketplace.

“I’ve always been able to give my listeners a voice and I’m taking that same approach to the syndicated show,” said Foxx. “We have a great team, Keke and Nina are really assets. Our show moves and will keep both male and female audiences tuned in.”

The Jeff Foxx Show with Keke Brown and Nina is a daily blaze of fun with entertainment, information and listener participation at every step. The program was formerly syndicated on Superadio and New York station WBLS. Built for afternoon drive on Urban AC stations, the show will broadcast weekdays from 3 PM to 7 PM EST.

“Our focus is to create alternative, fresh programming in morning and afternoon drive for Urban AC stations,” said Mike Love, President and CEO of Blue Tag Media. “I speak with Urban stations and decision-makers every day, and there is an appetite for Jeff Foxx’s fresh thinking and new content in syndication.”

“We are excited to continue our relationship with one of the most well-known and creative minds in the industry, Mike Love, and look forward to Jeff Foxx providing engaging entertainment in 2021 and beyond,” said Sun Chief Development Officer Rich O’Brien.

Statement From Michael Baisden:

As we approach the end of the year, I know how critical it is for radio stations to be able to plan ahead with their programming. I’m writing to inform you that the Michael Baisden Show will not be returning for 2021. Sun Broadcasting Group has been an incredible networking partner and their team, they have worked diligently to grow the show for the past two years. Unfortunately, due to the historic issues we faced with covid-19 and the subsequent economic crisis it’s been challenging to grow affiliation and revenue for the show. As always, I will be on standby if the economic situation changes and a greater opportunity present itself in regard to adding more markets. Until then, I will be focusing on my digital platforms, podcast content and events. Once again, thank you for your support of the show in the short time that we’ve been working together, and I wish you nothing but the best moving forward!
