44 Years Behind the Microphone: Tony Scott of 96.3 R&B Reflects on His Radio Journey
Before he became one of St. Louis radio's most familiar voices, Tony Scott was a young broadcaster with a dream and a microphone. More than four decades later, that journey has taken him across the country from Texas to California, Michigan, Missouri, and beyond, while connecting with millions of listeners along the way. As he celebrates the anniversary of his first day in radio, Tony reflects on the career, the people who made it possible, the loved ones he's lost, and why he's still as passionate about radio today as he was in 1982.
Read Tony's message below:
“I started in radio on this day in 1982. Wharton, TX., Houston, San Francisco, Detroit, St. Louis, Dallas and back to St. Louis. It’s been a great career and I ain’t done yet. If it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t have had the success I’ve been blessed with. So, thank you. And I wouldn’t even be alive if it wasn’t for my wife. Shout out to those that have passed. Kevin Woodson, Tammie Holland, Steve Harris, Cliff Winston, and others.”
