'The Streetz Morning Takeover' on Streetz 94.5 with Yung Joc Headed to National Syndication
W233BF-FM The Streetz 94.5 Atlanta morning show, "The Streetz Morning Takeover," hosted by Love and Hip Hop Atlanta reality star and rapper Yung Joc, Shawty Shawty and Sue Solo is going national. The program will be distributed by Superadio and is being added to stations in Charlotte, Norfolk and Albany, GA. immediately.
Programmer and show creator Steve Hegwood said, "This is America's only authentic Hip Hop Morning show and it's highly rated and battle tested under one of the most difficult and competitive situations imaginable. The Streetz Morning Takeover is built to win in every possible scenario and in every market. It has all the bells and whistles needed for great morning radio including tested and proven benchmarks backed by a great team who lives and appreciates the hip hop lifestyle. I'm excited to be working with Eric Faison at Superadio, and Gary Bernstein of Oceanic Tradewinds in what we believe will be the birth of the next great Urban syndicated product."
Superadio President Eric Faison added, "This program lives, breathes, and oozes Hip Hop. The authenticity and track record of The Streetz Morning Takeover is historic and can be duplicated in any size market. The show was built on a small translator but because of great programming and talent has become powerful enough to be a market dominator. It's perfect for any station looking to win 18-34 in AM drive, but still remain competitive 18-49 and 25-54."
Despite the small signal, the morning show has consistently performed at the top of ratings in Atlanta in the 18-34 demo. Yes it beat out Rickey Smiley at Hot 107.9, The Morning Culture on V-103, and others. Many listeners credit former host Mo Quick with helping the show's popularity among listeners in Atlanta. Mo Quick exited Streetz 94.5 and its Morning Takeover show in February after three years.
The morning show was developed with the star power of Yung Joc (with no radio experience) when iHeartRadio launched a station in Atlanta (96.7 The Beat) which caused Streetz 94.5 to lose The Breakfast Club to them. So they essentially beat out Charlamagne as well.
We are sure Mo Quick will resurface on a morning show in Atlanta and have a television platform in the near future once her non-compete is over.
Take a listen...
